The Monster of Nix is an animated short film by Dutch director and graphic novelist Rosto. For this film, I have worked as Head of Production and as the in-house producer for Studio Rosto A.D in Amsterdam.  After the film got green-lighted, we set up the international production teams for the live shooting, for the post-production work and the pipelines between the countries involved. As the producer of the 7-days-shooting in our green screen studio, I was responsible for all the live action arrangements from their start till I received the last backup from our DIT. We financed the film with our co-producers Autour de Minuit (FR) and CinéTé (BE) in association with French broadcaster Canal+ and Dutch broadcaster AVRO. It was additionally supported amongst others by governmental funding parties as the Dutch Filmfonds (NL), the Mediafonds (NL), French Procirep (FR), CNC (FR) and the Vlanders Audivisual Fund (BE). The crew for this 2,5-year-long production consisted of talented character designers, animators, riggers, matte painters, VFX and fluid specialists, compositors and many more. Further, I was honoured to work with a voice casts as Tom Waits, Terry Gilliam, French indie band The Dø and famous San Francisco rockers The Residents. The original sound score was recorded by the Dutch Metropole Orkest and mastered in Minneapolis at Undertone Music. We had about 100 people working on this film and we put more than 30 man-years in total into this project. The film is the official Dutch submission to the Academy Awards 2012 and had been short listed for the César.
